I am a paediatrician with an interest in gastroenterology. A paediatrician looks after children and young adults till age of 18 years. A paediatric gastroenterologist is someone who deals with issues of bowel, liver, gall bladder and pancreas.
We as children must have experienced some problems with tummy in our life time as it is very common. Children can sometimes have tummy problems that can affect there day to day activities as well as school attendance.

Paediatric Endoscopy
Paediatric endoscopy is done under General Anaesthesia.
It comprises of:
● Paediatric gastroscopy
● Paediatric colonoscopy
We also take biopsies when we do an endoscopy so we can look under the microscope for allergy and inflammatory cells.
Paediatric Gastroscopy
It is a procedure to look inside oesophagus (food pipe), stomach and duodenum (small bowel).
Paediatric Colonoscopy
A colonoscopy is a procedure to look at the inside of your large bowel (colon).
